Our School Day
Below is an outline of our typical school day(s). We are flexible with our curriculum approaches, therefore, this may change from time-to-time. We want our families to begin every day, in the best possible way. We provide them with a ‘Calm Start’ approach. Children can arrive from 8:45am and will be greeted on the door by their class teacher. Upon entering the classroom they will be welcomed with a breaksfast and a smile :) All children must be in their classrooms by 9:00am.
In each full week, school is open for 32 hours and 30 minutes.
Reception
8:45 - School Begins (Calm start*)
9:00 - Registration Closes
9:00 - Independent Learning
9:15 - Whole School Assembly
9:30 - Phonics
10:00 - Morning Lessons
At least one story will be read before lunchtime each day.
Playtimes are taken during the morning and a flexible for each class. Teachers and Teaching Assistants will play with their children. (15 minutes)
11:45 - Lunch Time
12:45 - Afternoon Lessons
Rest and reflect and at least one story will be included each day.
3:15 - Home Time
Due to the nature of our play based curriculum, children have many other opportunities to play both indoors and outdoors.
Extra Curricular Activities are offered during lunchtimes (all year round) and after school (from January). These include: Dance, Cheerleading, Reading Rockets, Art and Mindfullness.
Parents are invited into school each week to attend a Readers or Maths sessions, alternated every Friday (mornings or afternoons).
