Volunteers

At Alvaston Infant and Nursery School, we are committed to ensuring that our children receive the best possible education. We appreciate that volunteers, including parents, carers and members of the community all have an important role to play in securing the best outcomes for our children. In order to comply with safer recruitment processes and in order to ensure that children’s safety is never jeopardised, all volunteers must complete an application form. Once the application form is completed and references sought, we will require all volunteers to undertake a DBS check, which the school will organise. We would welcome volunteers to apply to work at our school, however, they must be deemed as ‘suitable to work with children’ and it will be the school’s discretion as to whether they think the volunteer is suitable, after the relevant checks. If we have a large number of volunteers, we may have to place some volunteers on a waiting list.

Volunteer places are limited and so, if there are no places available at the time of application, we will place you on our waiting list and contact you when a place becomes available.
